Hi nice find! That’s the kind of photo find thay really makes my day. I’ve enjoyed looking at your photos. I rarely take photos of people and so am intrigued at how people respond to you, especially in such close proximity opn the subway. Do people generally mind you taking their photos?

In the street, I always ask permission, so the only pictures you see are ones where people have been willing. The subway during rush hour doesn’t lend itself to such a conversation so I seldom ask (except with children) and most of the subway photos are taken without their subjects being aware that I’ve taken the picture.
That’s interesting. I’d love to take more photos of people but I’m always worried about their response! I think I just need to be a bit braver!
Yes, that’s the secret. The worst that can happen is they say no and you honor their wishes. There are some sites (like The Mindful Eye) where you may find some resources on street shooting with some hints about approaching people and asking their permission. Good luck!
